About Us

Your dental appointment, smarter.

We’ve all been there. You wait an hour in an exam room for a doctor to pop in for 30 seconds, offering a quick diagnosis that leaves you with more questions than answers. In a world focused on things that “spark joy,” going to the dentist isn’t usually one of them. It’s different here.

At Smart Dental Care, you get advanced care from highly-trained professionals using the most state-of-the-art technology at an affordable cost. But – more than that – you get a visit focused on you. Your visit starts with a friendly “hello” from our compassionate team who is eager to learn about what brings you in. After completing only the treatment you actually need, we’ll get you on your way with confidence about your health and the best version of your smile.

Could going to the dentist become the best part of your day?

We’re up for the challenge. At Smart Dental Care, you get:

Modern Dentistry

You’ll find we use the most up-to-date techniques and technology, including digital x-rays that greatly reduce radiation, intraoral cameras that show you what we see, computerized electronic claims for faster insurance payments, and treatments – like 6-month braces and dental implants – to get the results you want, faster.

Plus, since we know how frustrating it can feel to be referred somewhere else, we offer most any treatment you need in our office.

Meet Your Doctors:

Prairieville Doctors

Dr. Jeremy Moore

I was born at Woman’s Hospital and grew up in Prairieville (early years) and Baton Rouge. I graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1999 after paying my way through college via the Army National Guard, where I served as a combat medic for six years. From there it was off to LSU Dental School in New Orleans, where I graduated in 2003. So, as you can see, I’m a local guy through and through, and proud of it.

In my free time I like to mostly spend time with my family, play with my kids, and occasionally sneak in a little tennis. I’m a huge LSU sports fan and also enjoy fishing. Recently, I’ve begun learning to play the guitar. Wish me luck! It’s not as easy as some people make it look. I’ll also volunteer with my church’s mobile dental unit and participate in mission trips to third world countries to provide free dental work. I think it’s important to give something back.

My vision, when building the office, was to set up an office that would exceed patient expectations in every way that they experience the practice. As a matter of fact, that’s our vision statement and we had it framed awhile back as a reminder. What this meant to me was that this office would run on time so that our patients don’t have to wait for their appointments.

It also meant building an office with amenities to make visits more enjoyable. Check out our Office Pictures, and you’ll see what I mean. Finally, it meant providing a wide variety of specialized services and doing so at an affordable price. I know that most of my patients don’t want to have to go to a specialist in order to have orthodontics/braces, a root canal, or dental implants if they need these procedures. We do just about every general and cosmetic dental procedure you could ever want here in the office. We do them well, and we do them affordably.

I certainly hope that you’ll give us a try. You’ll be happy that you did. To make it even easier you can use our handy online Contact form to request an appointment time, and we’ll promptly call or email you back.

We’ll also be happy to answer any questions you may have, and we look forward to seeing you soon! Have a great day!

Gonzales Doctor

Dr. Amber Spurlock

Hi! My name is Dr. Amber Spurlock, and I am a native of St. James, LA. I attended Xavier University of Louisiana for undergrad, where I earned my Chemistry degree.

After undergrad, I worked for 2 years as a chemical lab analyst at Phillips 66. It was there that I decided to go after my dream of being a dentist. I was able to attend Meharry Medical College to obtain my masters and doctorate degree.

After dental school, I attended LSU for residency before beginning my career in private practice. It has definitely been great to provide dental services in the areas that I grew up.

Outside of the dental office, I have the privilege of being a mom to a handsome, energetic little boy.
